In the bustling heart of Miami Music Week 2025, we caught up with the electrifying duo JUSTNKAYSE at the vibrant Hercules Space at Nexus Lounge Miami. With a blend of excitement and gratitude, Kayslin Victoria, one half of JUSTNKAYSE, kicked off the interview with contagious energy. “I’m super grateful and it’s just been so awesome already,” she beamed, setting the tone for what was evidently a week full of promise and musical magic.

Miami Music Week is more than just a series of events; for JUSTNKAYSE, it’s a platform for growth and a playground for creativity. With a show scheduled at the iconic Kill Your Idol, Kayslin’s enthusiasm was palpable. She expressed her anticipation, “This trip is really just about, networking, making connections, having fun, just growing.”

The conversation naturally transitioned to their ongoing projects. JUSTNKAYSE’s recent collaboration with Spinnin’ Records, alongside Bingo Players and Landis, had just broken into the top 40 on Billboard radio—a significant milestone worth celebrating. Reflecting on their journey, Kayslin remarked, “We have a lot of really cool stuff coming up… it’s taken us a little bit just because we have a really cool story to tell. So we just want it to be planned out and now we’re ready to go.”

The interview took a fun detour with Raquel’s “Take Five Series” of rapid-fire questions, delving into whimsical topics like the description of a sandwich to aliens—”Amazingness between two buns. It’s just greatness,”—and opinions on which animal might be the rudest. After some chuckling over the unexpected choices of rhinos and hippos, laughter echoed off the studio walls, bridging the formalities with genuine camaraderie.

When the conversation turned towards the personal, Kayslin shared a heartfelt moment about her sister’s recent passing. Despite the somber tone, it was a moment of vulnerability and introspection that deepened the dialogue. “It makes you look at things so differently when you experience that kind of loss,” she reflected, highlighting the resilience and passion that fuel her artistry.

Closing the interview with a peek into their creative process, Kayslin emphasized the importance of collaboration and intuition in music production. “Every artist is their own worst critic… but I think it just gets to a point where you just have to take a step back and be like, you know what? I’m good where this is at.”
