Simplicity, the dynamic duo hailing from West Palm Beach, Florida, is on a sublime mission to reignite the flames of Progressive House. Niel Degas and Ricardo Geldres, who met through a mutual friend in the Summer of 2022, united their musical and creative passions to form Simplicity. Their music, often compared to the likes of Swedish House Mafia and Dubvision, is poised to capture hearts and ignite dance floors.

Simplicity stopped by the Nexus Lounge Miami during Miami Music Week. The duo’s infectious energy and down-to-earth nature made the conversation an absolute delight. When asked about the origin of their intriguing name, Simplicity explained, “When you listen to EDM, you get that feeling of love, vibes surrounded by good friends.” They emphasized that being simple and humble while keeping things mellow was central to their ethos.

As they continue to soar in the music world, Simplicity has exciting projects in the pipeline. They eagerly shared, “It’s a vibe coming out soon, featuring the wonderful Diamond again.” Their recent release, “Where We Started,” astoundingly topped the charts at Nexus Radio, leading them to exclaim, “Oh my God, number one again. This is actually amazing.”

The conversation took a playful turn when DJ Ron posed a series of quirky questions. When asked which animal would be the rudest if they could talk, Simplicity’s humorous response was a unanimous, “Probably a rooster.” The duo also gave a whimsical take on being a playful ghost, saying, “Just move stuff a little bit and then, last second, just yeet the object.”

Switching gears to more serious reflections, Simplicity shared their life’s biggest lesson: “You’re gonna have a lot of obstacles in your way… but you have to overcome it regardless.” They believe that “with great pain comes great success,” a mantra echoed by Niel’s grandmother.

The interview wrapped up with some business wisdom, as Simplicity emphasized the importance of artistic evolution while cherishing their Progressive House roots. “You’re gonna be evolving from one genre to another…for the fans, for everybody out there, keep it interesting.”

Join Simplicity on their musical journey and be sure to catch their upcoming release, “It’s a Vibe,” dropping on April 18th. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the duo’s sound, their passion and authenticity are sure to resonate. Listen to the full interview.
