Superstar DJs Gabriel & Dresden joined us during Nexus Radio’s red-carpet event presented by Big Joe® and BPM Supreme® during Miami Music Week 2018 to talk about their latest projects, the state of dance-music and so much more.
Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden make up the American production duo known as Gabriel & Dresden. The duo first began collaborating in 2001 before going on an 11-year hiatus that began in 2008.
The San Francisco-based producers have created numerous hit tracks and remixes, which earned them the “Best American DJ” Winter Music Award twice (2007 and 2008). Today, Josh and Dave have joined forces once again and are ready to venture into the future.
The pair first dove into how Paul Oakenfold brought the two together, how they are mashing-up seven genres together into their new tracks. They also want people to know that while they’ve been on extended leave- they’ve been keeping close tabs on everybody and the state of dance-music today; they are hopeful about its future.
"We feel better and better about it every day. It feels like the class of 2014- the EDM crowd has grown up and some of them have reached out to techno…they have an expanded pallet of sounds and we are sort of ripe and ready to deliver for them right now. Future house is a thing now you just never really know. If you had told me two years ago that a dude with a marshmallow hat was going to be the biggest thing in dance music today, I would have been like ‘you’re crazy.’“
