10 Questions With “I’ll Look After You” Producer Luno

THE TAKE 5 SERIES

LUNO

Luno makes a comeback in 2022 with his first sonic offering, “I’ll Look After You,” which features Massachusetts-based singer/songwriter Haux’s vocal prowess. The emerging musician’s freshest serves as a second lead single, effectively building anticipation for his upcoming “Planet Luno” EP, slated for release later this spring!

Luno, previously known as Samuraii, is a rapidly rising Swedish producer based in Stockholm. When he was a teenager, he first developed a reputation by remixing songs from Tove Lo, Matoma, and Astrid S, accumulating over 35 million plays. Then, a remix of Haux’s “Caves” brought the producer’s sound into the ears of listeners all over the world, racking up over 15 million streams and landing the song a max rotation slot on SiriusXM Chill. He’s refining his electronic influences with his Luno project, delving into the house, melodic techno, and electronica.

“I’ll Look After You” comes after Luno’s fascinating joint single with Kilik, “Moonlight,” released in November. It also follows up on Haux’s four-track “Fever In The Night’ EP from 2020, which featured production elements from Luno’s prior project, Samuraii. The majority of the three-minute masterwork features elongated soundscapes, rolling basslines, and a propulsive tone, a great combination of both artists’ signature sounds. “I’ll Look After You” is out now on Ultra Music and available to listen to on all streaming platforms.

Q: Before we dig in, what's next for you?

I’m releasing my debut EP “Planet Luno” in March. Im excited about that!

Q: Why did you choose to make dance music?

I grew up on electronic dance music so naturally it has shaped me a lot.

Q: How important are lyrics?

In some songs, they are everything; in other songs, you have to let that kick drum speak. My latest release with Haux is one of those songs where they are essential.

Q: What do you think of Robots making music?

I’m fascinated by technology and how it can shape the future of music. It opens up lots of new ways to be creative.

Q: What's something everyone should experience at least once in their life?

Music. Hopefully more than once. Also probably pasta.

Q: Do you ever sing while taking a shower or having a bath? Why is this popular? Do you sing in tune?

Of course, it’s probably because of the apparent resemblance between the showerhead and a microphone!

Q: What was the weirdest habit you had as a child?

I don’t know. I used to talk to myself a lot. I still do that, though.

Q: What invention would advance humanity the most if you could go back in time and inspire someone to make a present-day invention?

Imagine showing electronic music to Mozart or Beethoven.

Q: Can You Dream Of Having A Dream?

Can we be sure this is not a dream?

Q: What double standard is ridiculous and needs to be ended?

There are so many double standards concerning gender both within the industry and in general that don’t belong in 2022 or in any year for that matter.
