Q: Before we dig in, what's next for you?
Next up, I’m excited to release my new song “Northern Light,” featuring the amazing vocalist Justin J. Moore, which will be out on Warner Music on August 30th. Following that, on September 20th, I’ll drop another track titled “New Heights” in collaboration with Charming Horses on Soave. Just recently, on August 2nd, my current single “You,” created with Yves V and Madism, was released on the Berlin-based label Crash Your Sound. A lot is happening, and I can’t wait to share this new music with you!
Q: Tell us about a memorable moment from one of your live performances.
One of my most memorable moments from a live performance was my first Mainstage gig in 2022 at the famous Sonne Mond Sterne Festival in Thuringia, Germany. I had the second slot of the day, and it wasn’t until I was on the festival grounds that I realized just three slots later, my absolute idols, The Chainsmokers, would also be performing on the same stage. It was a surreal experience, and I even had the chance to meet them and exchange a few words afterward. It was truly an incredible moment that I’ll never forget.
Q: How does music impact your life?
Music has a huge impact on my life. I wake up and listen to music, I’m in the car and I’m listening to music, and when I’m in the studio, I’m both making and listening to music. I would say that music has become a constant companion in my life. I’m always on the lookout for new music, especially for my bi-weekly “liquidfive Under Control Radio Show,” where I’m constantly searching across all channels for the right tracks to include. Without music, life would be a lot more boring for me.
Q: What's the most embarrassing song on your playlist?
Hmm, that’s an interesting question—I’ve never been asked that before! If you’re talking about a song I play live, I’m not sure if any of them would be considered embarrassing, but I guess it’s all a matter of personal taste. If you mean a song I listen to myself, there isn’t a track I’d consider embarrassing because those kinds of songs just don’t make it onto my playlist.
Q: What's the most ridiculous music video you've ever seen?
Hahaaa, that’s a cool question! I’d say the most ridiculous music video I’ve ever seen is “Loving the Alien” by David Bowie. I’m a huge fan of Bowie, but this video is something else—very unique and quite out there. But I’m sure there are even more outrageous videos out there that I just haven’t come across yet!

Q: What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
My favorite ice cream flavor is hazelnut, followed closely by walnut. I just love all kinds of nut flavors!
Q: If you could solve one global problem overnight, what would it be?
If I could solve one global problem overnight, it would be ending hunger. I would ensure that no one on the planet has to go hungry and that everyone can live a happy and fulfilling life.
Q: If you had a time machine and could visit any historical period, where and when would you go?
If I had a time machine, I would visit the Middle Ages, specifically in London and Paris. I’m fascinated by that era and love all kinds of knight movies. I think it would be incredibly interesting to see how people lived back then.
Q: What movies have inspired you?
I am a big fan of the Alien film saga. The music from the first film, but also the subsequent films, was something completely new and unprecedented for me. I find the “Alien” soundtracks fascinating because they often blend elements of classical music, avant-garde, and electronic music. This mix inspires me to explore cross-genre experimentation in my work, combining different musical traditions to create something new and innovative.
Q: Describe your most bizarre life experience thus far?
One of the most bizarre experiences I’ve had so far, as mentioned before, was performing at the Sonne Mond Sterne festival where I realized just moments before my set that I would be sharing the stage with one of my musical idols later that day. It was surreal to think that I was about to perform on the same stage where these icons would soon be playing. It was one of those moments that felt completely out of the ordinary and left a lasting impression on me.
Thank you for the interview. liquidfive!
