Dutch producer and DJ Sophie Francis is a force to be reckoned with. With four charting singles and a spot on Spotify’s 25 Most Influential Artists Under 25 under her belt, one can expect greatness from her latest track, “Six Pack,” an ode to healthy living. In the midst of her ADE experience, Francis stopped by the BPM Supreme pop-up studio during Nexus Lounge Amsterdam this past fall to chat with host Todd Michael about everything from her dog to embarrassing moments while performing.
For the first of five random questions, Michael prompted Francis about what role she’d play in a traveling circus.
“What I would love to be is on those ropes,” Francis laughed. “Ready to walk and balance — tightrope.”
Francis also touched on a difficult choice in superpowers: to make food appear or to make plants grow.
“Can I combine the two? I would like to make plants grow because there are too few plants at the moment. Then I would love to make food appear everywhere I go. But then I don’t want to get fat.”
Michael couldn’t resist inquiring about Francis’ pets (or lack thereof).
“[I have a] little dog. A Yorkshire terrier. She’s like super old now, she’s fourteen. And she snores and she makes sounds, but she’s amazing.”
Lastly, Michael asked Francis to think hard about her closest friends, with a question about which individuals she would take with her to spend a year in the Amazon rainforest.
