The Romanian signer Alexandra Stan known for her hit “Mr. Saxobeat” hit made the European Headlines this week.

This week the signer filed a claim that she was beaten up by her manager-boyfriend Gelu Manolescu after a dispute over money.  Romanian police picked up Alexandra Stan from the roadside where she was arguing with Gelu Manolescu and took the bruised 24-year-old signer to a local hospital for treatment.

Alexandra Stan went public with the claims on the local tv networks- complete with black eyes and bruises to address the issue about domestic violence in the European country, where it is often brushed aside.

Police in the country typically avoid getting involved only investigate when instructed.   The countries attitude towards the violence has had many believing it’s a publicity stunt, such as a 28-year old fan Vali Bejinaru “I am sorry for her. I think she’s a treasure and pretty. But what can she do if that is her fate?”

As for Alexandra Stand, she stated on her Facebook:  “I will comeback soon with news for my fans so please wait till I recover. About my manager I will let the justice to take care of it, and I don’t wanna discuss about him, please respect that, because I don’t wanna be accused of telling things without any advice from my lawyer”  said the singer.
