DJ Your Honor joined us at the Sennheiser pop-up lounge at the Nexus Lounge in Miami. He answered questions from our Take-5 interview series and chatted about what’s coming up next in his career.
NYC native Gustavo Medina, better known as DJ Your Honor, is one of the hottest rising stars in the club scene. But, if it weren’t for a particular quote from the hit movie Wolf of Wall Street, Medina might not have ventured into the world of DJing.
“The only thing standing between you and your goal is the BS story you keep telling yourself why you can’t achieve it.”
So instead of pursuing law like his father, Gustavo Medina decided to pursue his dreams as DJ Your Honor, a tribute to his “almost” career.
Music has played a significant role in Gustavo Medina’s life. “It’s the one art that you don’t need to have your eyes open to appreciate.” Since he was very young, he has loved music but never could have imagined it would turn into a full-fledged career. Although the young DJ has found massive success, he regrets not focusing more on his music. But that is about to change.
DJ Your Honor is preparing to release a hot new track called “Dream Dance” in collaboration with fellow DJ Anevo. The record is six years in the making, and he is confident that it will do well. “I have a lot of confidence in the people I work with,” He said regarding his high hopes for the single. “And I have a lot of confidence in Nexus Radio.” You heard that right. We will be debuting the track exclusively here, on Nexus radio!
