Joining us at the Hey Dude popup studio in the Nexus Lounge, Amsterdam edition, we spoke with Badvice DJ about his recent work, upcoming projects, and music’s incredible, ever-changing nature.
The modern Italian dance scene has its fair share of incredible, boundary-pushing artists. Out of that fantastic landscape, Badvice DJ stands out as one of the most energetic, exciting, dance-floor-driven artists you’ll ever hear, with unforgettable beats that’ll keep the party rolling all night long.
And fans aren’t alone in recognizing his remarkable talent. Over the last few years, he’s become more and more recognized as an in-demand artist working across a range of iconic labels such as Sirup Music and Gold Lizard Records. Meanwhile, even the likes of Nicky Romero and David Guetta are speaking up for his unique sound.
In amongst all that success, it would be easy to grow complacent. Still, Badvice DJ has remained committed to taking his music worldwide with concerts across America, Europe, and Asia, all while working on experimental techno tracks set to be released on Warner Music.
2023 was Badvice DJ’s first time at the Amsterdam Dance Event, and, classically, he managed to keep himself busy the whole time with parties and performances. It’s a wonder he can keep up with such a packed schedule, but that’s a trade-off so many artists make for pursuing their true passion.
But how does he keep his music fresh while spinning so many plates? That might have something to do with his tastes, which, as it turns out, are far more varied than you might think.
From an early exposure to old-fashioned house with the likes of Frankie Knuckles and David Morales to more modern EDM and future rave, he says his tastes are constantly changing and that it’s essential for his music to reflect that.
"Music is always changing. Always evolving… You need to keep yourself up to date and change your style."
That’s not to say work has been his only focus in the last few years. Quite the contrary, as back in 2021, he and his partner were married. Unfortunately, they couldn’t go on their honeymoon immediately as COVID lockdowns were still in place. Still, they were lucky enough to have a ceremony in their beautiful hometown of Venice before taking a trip to Vietnam the following year.
