American producers Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall, the duo that forms the EDM group ‘The Chainsmokers’ have been at the top of their game most of 2015-16. The duo scored a major hit earlier this year when they released their single “Don’t Let Me Down,” with vocalist Daya, which has since gone on to become their first song to make it to the top five position on the US charts. This week The Chainsmokers performed this hit single with Daya on Good Morning America, delivering a unique live rendition of the song on National TV.
Alex Pall plays the opening melodies on a pair of keyboards, while Andrew Taggart dons an electric guitar. They are both led by Daya’s charasmatic vocals. A cymbal-centric drummer and a peppy saxophone player provided the artists with additional reinforcements. At the end of the show, The Chainsmokers tweeted “Couldn’t have done it without the help of these badasses”

This performance proves that the duo has real talent–it makes up for the duo’s cringe-worthy performance on American Idol a couple of years ago. It also bodes well for the dance music community, showing how electronic music is getting accepted into our day to day lives.
