The German DJ recently unveiled his latest trance creation titled “Term Sheet,” a track that debuted at the Amsterdam Dance Event. Leveraging his legal background with a Ph.D. and LL.M. and having worked as a former investment banker, he uniquely crafts trance music centered around business and finance. Reflecting on this creative choice, he remarked, “Everyone can see the terms of my tracks are related to business and finance, something I used to work in when I was in investment banking. I’m also a trained lawyer. I left that business and ramped up my own business.”

In a more in-depth conversation, Clemens van Lay emphasized the significance of independence, saying, “I’m completely independent, paving the way for my career as a producer. I think that’s something that might be interesting for many people, to become independent and do what they want to do. Follow your passion, follow your talents; I think bringing together various loose ends is interesting to get satisfaction and fulfillment in the long run.”
