The Disco Fries Talk Pizza, Shaq and Obama

Nick Ditri and Danny Boselovic, better known as The Disco Fries, joined us at the Nexus Lounge for Miami Music Week 2018 to talk about their recent rapid-fire output, favorite performance moments, and tangential connection to Shaq.

The electronic production duo has been together since 2004, touring extensively in recent years, working with DJ legends like Tiesto, and sharing performance spaces with superstars like Jennifer Lopez and Ariana Grande. However, the other artists they wanted to talk about were more personal.

“It’s dope to play the festivals,” says Ditri, “because you get to see a bunch of artists that you normally wouldn’t. It’s super eclectic, and being around the music scene in that capacity is inspiring for us. It affects the way we produce.”

Boselovic also expressed how gratified he’s been to work with the artists that inspired him as he started collaborating with Ditri in college:

“We worked with the lead singer of a band, Our Lady Peace, a few years ago… I grew up listening to them, and they were one of the first bands I was really into. And a couple of years back… we did a song with Nick Hexum from 311, [another] with Raine Maida from Our Lady Peace, and we worked with Breathe Carolina… it was so cool being able to work with someone I looked up to from such a young age.”

“Dance 2 Your Heartbeat” (by Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries X Wrongchilde ft. Sierra Kusterbeck) was released in March.
