DJ and production duo Disco Fries joined us at the G-Shock pop-up studio in the Nexus Lounge Amsterdam.

It’s the duo’s first time back in Amsterdam for ADE in years, and we were hyped to get a chance to chat with them about the release of their recent album “Another World,” their Twitch live streams, and to play a quick game of Nexus Take 5.

Disco Fries

Disco Fries, made up of Nick Ditri and Danny Boselovic, started in a Berklee basement as a project between two friends looking to create good dance music together. Their track “Pieces” with Vassy and Bingo Players got them an EDMA nomination, while “Concrete Heart” with Vassy in 2019 topped the Billboard charts.

They’re not just about their music. Through Finish My Track (finishmytrack.com), the duo helps artists fine-tune their nearly finished songs to take them to the release point. What started as a COVID project about connecting has shifted into a phenomenon that keeps them busy and regularly collaborating with new and up-and-coming artists.

The last time we caught up with Disco Fries was in Miami, where the duo teased their new album “Another World.” The project has since been released, providing fans with the ultimate dance tracks for summer 2023.

Now, they’ve got their sights set on releasing a new track with Sarah de Warren (“The Edge”) and a club record called “Turn Out The Lights,” all set to come out before the end of the year.

During our interview, Disco Fries advises young DJs looking to break into the industry: "Ignore what everybody else has to say about it, including the people who might be closest to you, and do what feels right with zero expectations of anything good happening."

Before they head out, we answer a quick-fire round of Nexus Take 5 questions, which Disco Fries already know inside and out as regular guests in our lounges. You’ll have to watch the exclusive interview below to get all their answers, but a couple of topics we covered were the most embarrassing song on their playlist, their favorite ice cream flavor, and their worst pick-up lines. Oof.
