Fedde Le Grand joined us at the Nexus Lounge Miami, hosted at the Hercules DJ Space, during this year’s Miami Music Week.
Long revered as one of house music’s most iconic figures, Fedde Le Grand has seen every evolution of the scene firsthand. From his breakout hit “Put Your Hands Up for Detroit” to chart-topping remixes for legends like Madonna, Coldplay, and Fatboy Slim, his impact is undeniable. But even icons have to start somewhere.

Fedde reflected on his early days mixing in top 40 bars and syncing vinyl with a CD player in his bedroom. “At a certain point, you just have to go for it,” he said. Fast-forward to today, and he’s mentoring the next generation while still releasing fresh material himself.
A highlight of the conversation? Fedde revealed that his next release is a long-awaited collaboration with Funkerman—his first with the fellow Dutch producer in nine years. He hinted that even more remixes and collaborations are on the way throughout 2025: “Pretty much a release every month.”
When asked about revamping one of his most enduring classics, “So Much Love,” he shared that a prominent DJ recently approached him to revisit the track—so fans might just be in for a new version soon
Outside the studio, Fedde credits his fiancée for keeping him grounded. He’s been living part-time in Miami and loving the escape from Europe’s cold winters. His easygoing energy came through even in our signature rapid-fire “Take 5” segment, where he named camels as the rudest animals and Droopy Dog as the cartoon character he’d swap lives with for a week.
When asked what life has taught him, Fedde didn’t hesitate: “Relax.” He talked about the value of staying focused while letting go of what you can’t control—a mindset that’s clearly helped him navigate decades in the spotlight.
So how does Fedde know when a track is truly done? “When I play it,” he said. “Sometimes you think it’ll crush, and it just doesn’t. You go back to the drawing board.”
