Flume Releases 4-Tracks On Skin Companion EP

2016 has been a tremendous year for Flume, the highlight of it being his album ‘Skin’ catapulting him to great heights. Just last week, Flume swept the ARIA Music Awards taking home a total of eight trophies, including Best Male Artist. Now the Australian producer has freshly released four new tracks on his ‘Skin Companion’ EP.

With two impressive albums under his belt, and now today’s Skin Companion EP, success and the amount of it must still must feel a little like a dream for Flume. Meant to serve as a companion release after his full-length ‘Skin’, the ‘Skin Companion’ EP is the first of an undecided number of releases of music made during the same time as his album’s works. The first ‘Skin Companion’ EP serves as a departure from the expected Flume sound with a somewhat ethereal and down tempo, allowing the producer to unveil his more off-beat and sonically explorative tracks.

Track 1, “TRUST” feat. Isabella Manifredi is a glittery treasure, which is like a mix between his nostalgic tracks. The song starts with chimes and become an upbeat melody as Isabella’s powerful voice goes onto give a performance that is noteworthy.

Track 2, “V” shows how Flume manifests so much emotion into his tracks. It starts in chaos but as it evolves it gives way to a euphoric conclusion that is both introspective and delightful.

Track 3, “Heater” – of all of the tracks, this is the closest to the hits on ‘Skin’ and is reminiscent of his early style in many ways.

The EP wraps up with “Quirk” which features heart-melting vocals, along with a brilliant production that only Flume could devise.
