Mykris, a veteran of the Ultra Music Festival, lives the DJ dream: touring the world and bringing music and enthusiasm to crowds from Miami to Tokyo. Just a month ago, he took his talents to Miami Music Week 2022. But first, he stopped by the BPM Supreme pop-up studio at the Nexus Lounge Miami for a chat. Then, he talked about his latest project and took part in our Take 5 series.
Mykris is a DJ and producer with great artistic roots who spent his teenage years on music. After that, he relocated to Spain and began performing music in various city bars. That was when he got his first break, with the opportunity to DJ at Noctropolis, Cuenca’s biggest club. Then he moved to Miami in 2007, when he was just 20 years old, to study at the Scratch DJ Academy, where he received no less than six DJ and Production diplomas. This achievement was made possible by his tutor, Jamie Keogh, who provided him with intense teachings.

“Right now, we have a few tracks to be released, and I will premier them at Ultra’s main stage. And from there, we’re going to see how people react to it. And then from there, we will start to plan more for the future.”
Mykris is a smash wherever he travels, thanks to his lively, high-quality musical sessions, unmistakable charm, and unwavering desire to satisfy his listeners. Top national and international DJs such as Carl Cox, Armin Van Buuren, Benny Benassi, Fatboy Slim, Calvin Harris, Deadmau5, David Guetta, Laidback Luke, and The Chemical Brothers have shared the DJ booth and billing with Mykris. In addition, we can listen to his new weekly radio show, “Mykris Phoenix Radio,” where he will premiere new releases, exclusive music, and high-energy bangers.
In our Take 5 series, we get to know him better. When asked who he compares himself to, he answered,
"I don't usually compare myself because I think comparing yourself is like entering a world where everyone will be better than you and worse than you. So it is better to try to improve yourself. But I admire a lot of DJs. A lot of them are a big inspiration for me."
