There’s something electrifying about Miami Music Week, the annual magnet that pulls in DJs, producers, and enthusiasts from all over. Amidst the buzz at the Hercules Space at the Nexus Lounge hummed with anticipation as DJ Ron set the stage for an engaging conversation with techno dynamo Gseep and lifestyle DJ Eddie Grand.

When asked about their Miami experience, Gseep and Eddie were candid in describing their week of networking and performance. “We flew in on Tuesday,” Gseep began, “Miami Music Week, of course, is the center of attention right now.” Eddie chimed in about hosting an open deck event for invited DJs, adding, “It was a good time. Good networking.”

Beyond the festivities, the duo reflected on their DJing journeys and challenges faced. Eddie humorously recalled, “Challenge getting music. ‘Cause originally I was just ripping it from YouTube,” a lesson learned about the necessity of high-quality tracks. Gseep echoed the sentiment of persistence, emphasizing the importance of getting a “front foot” in the industry.

The conversation shifted towards the evolution of DJing tools, with Gseep saying, “The sync button? It definitely helped people.” According to Eddie, technological advancements made DJing more accessible: “Now everything’s in a tiny USB and B3 baby.”

What about their future ventures? Gseep revealed, “One of the reasons we’re here is to portray our brand new track,” a thrilling remix adapted to Miami’s vibrant techno scene. From bringing their original track back into the spotlight and revamping it from a tech house style to a BPM-pumping hard house, it’s clear these two are constantly innovating.

DJ Ron threw in some light-hearted questions, prompting Gseep to guess which animal would be the rudest if it could talk. “I feel like giraffes don’t care about anybody,” he laughed. Eddie had a different view, nominating cats for their judgmental glares.

As the session wrapped up, Gseep expressed a profound life lesson: “Every day is learning a different life lesson… every day you’re learning.” Eddie added his own thoughts on handling criticism: “You gotta be open to hear people’s opinions.”  Listen to the full interview below.
