Francis Mercier
Francis Mercier’s style is not your typical dance music. Mercier channels afro, soul, and disco roots with his deep, melodic tunes. His diverse and profound knowledge of his genre can be attributed to his upbringing, education at Brown University, and experience with multiple cultures. His demanding presence and authentic flair have earned him opportunities to play at some of the hottest venues worldwide. Francis frequents venues in major European cities like Munich, Zurich, Lisbon, Belgrade, Stockholm, and Paris. The Haitian-born artist is also the mastermind behind his record label, Deep Root Records, one of the few 100% black-owned labels in his genre.
Mercier is a master in his genre. While many DJs prepare their sets ahead of time, Francis doesn’t. “I try to make it an experience every time.” He doesn’t prepare edits or anything in advance. The type of set he creates is usually based on the city or location and the length of the set. For this DJ, each show will have a unique vibe that enables him to connect with his audience truly.

“Nowadays, it’s about authenticity and being true to yourself.”
