KOM: What is the Key to his madness?

Italian-DJ and music producer KOM stopped in for a brief interview at the Nexus Lounge Amsterdam during ADE. The bass-house music maker says his alias “KOM” stands for “key of madness,” because he is the key to the madness in his live shows.

We know one thing about his madness. It scored him a release under Panda Funk’s imprint under Armada Music. The high profile release led him to produce more “clubby” and vocal tracks.

“I’m working on a lot of tracks. The general (sound) is bass-house, but also something more club-house, more clubby, groovy, with some cool vocals.I try to make my best step-by-step for sure.”

The “key of madness” producer mentioned using JBL products for mixing and productions, but he defaults to Technics turntables whenever he has to play with real vinyl.

“I know Technics is a very nice quality instrument. I have true Technics 1200 for mixing vinyl and I love this kind of sound. I hope this kind of sound comes back in the new technology…the real sound of music.”

KOM resisted choosing another job besides music, he persisted that he didn’t want to do anything else in life.

“I think my job is this and I don’t want to change it. I try improving step by step, but I don’t want to change it.”
