Joining us at the CalPAK space during the Nexus Lounge, Miami edition, we spoke with Leo Oliver about his music, production process, and top travel tips.

As a Brazilian DJ at the peak of his game, it’s been twenty-four years since Leo Oliver hit the music scene in the year 2000; his skill and talent only grew during that time. Refining, defining, and constantly revitalizing his sound, Oliver is a man whose music speaks to the place and time in which it was crafted – a perfect encapsulation of EDM culture.

Of course, his love of music goes back even further. For him, it all started when he was young, listening to the amazing house and techno music of the ’90s. It’s easy to see how his appreciation for the EDM genre has not only helped his music always feel new and fresh but has also helped make his radio show Revolution 935 one of Miami’s most popular dance music programs.

Speaking of music programs, we were eager to learn more about Leo Oliver’s production process, and he was kind enough to oblige us.

"In terms of software to produce music, I'm an Ableton guy… I love the software; it's so easy. So yeah, that's my go-to."

Now, anyone who’s traveled before knows that flying can be a nightmare. Of course, Oliver has plenty of flying experience, so we wanted to know more about his pro travel tips.

"Get there early so you don't miss your flight - believe me, I've missed ten flights in my life! Every time that you're checking in, ask for an upgrade. It doesn't matter where, ask for an upgrade. You'll get it - I promise you'll get it."

Digging a little deeper into the music, Oliver credited his greatest influences as the iconic ’90s rock group Pearl Jam, modern dance music mastermind Tiësto, and his Australian DJ sister Nervo. These are all great choices, but that should come as no surprise from the artist who brought us tracks like “Good Time” and his recent hit “President House.”

Speaking of his latest music, alongside the excellent “President House,” he’s also dropped “No Closure” with Pyro Records and a radio edit of his popular single “Ownboss.”
