Mike Mago Talks Hugs and High-Fives : ADE 2017

Mike Mago got his start playing long sets in small clubs, and even though these days he’s closing sets at Ministry of Sound in Ibiza -he hasn’t forgotten what is important to him. “I realized that I’m at home behind the decks. I was loving every second” he says, during our interview in Amsterdam Dance Event. “It’s different in a club where I’m going to play this record and see how it goes, it’s all about the necessity to live in the moment, because you have to enjoy it.”

Another great moment was Mike describing his first experience filming a music video for “Dangerous Behavior.” It was the first time he was ever in a music video, he only did it because he felt comfortable with the video director, which was the same person that directed his previous music video. “I’m dancing and looking wildly into the mist,” he says.  He was also very happy with the song which he credits Tiggi for the hook. For his new track he departs from his usual house sound for a more down-tempo vibe.

With his intense DJ schedule, it’s anyone’s guess where Mike Mago finds the time to read any books. He loves to read as much as he loves his fans- “I don’t exist without the fans.”

Here’s an exclusive tip for Mike Mago super-fans: next time you see him at a show, be sure to give him a high five and a hug (if you can) – he really loves his fans and he’s not shy about it!
