Tava: Love and Music Everywhere

Joining us at the Hey Dude popup studio in the Nexus Lounge, Amsterdam, we spoke with Tava about his time at the Amsterdam Dance Event and his experiences as a significant voice in Italy’s music scene.

Known for his incredible collaborations with Nari & Milani and many excellent remixes, Gianluci Tavani – known by his fans simply as Tava – is a musical force on the road to significant success. Perhaps his most tremendous success came with the track “Pump It Up” – a fully energized, clubtastic soundscape that will always get audiences in the mood to dance.

Tava

Speaking with him at 2023’s Amsterdam Dance Event, Tava expressed his joy at being back in the European capital of dance, playing shows and sharing his music with audiences new and old. The event came shortly after the release of his track “I’m Dancing” on 2Dutch Records, and he also teased that more music would come in the next few months.

Since then, we’ve had GNOR – two minutes of pure, industrially charged dance fuel – and an incredible hardstyle remix of Luca Testa’s “Miss You”. Suffice it to say that Tava has been hard at work and fan’s can only look forward to what might be coming down the road.

Moving onto our fast, fun, Take5 questions, we kicked things off with his most unusual on-stage experience. Sadly, Tava’s was an all too common story of an audience member misbehaving and throwing a bottle.

On a lighter note, when we asked which three people (dead or alive) he’d choose to have dinner with, it turned out that his wish, at least in part, had already been fulfilled. His picks were “David Guetta, for sure, Don Diablo and Davis Mallory,” who – it just so happened – was hosting the interview for Nexus.

Lastly, we asked about his favorite dance moves. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Tava’s the kind of man who loves a good crowd-pleaser.

“All your hands up in the air,” he said. “All your hands up in the air!”
