Italian DJ Milano graced us with his presence at the Nexus Lounge Amsterdam. He talks about his experience during the ADE, teases new projects, and joins the fun of our Take 5 series!
Masenzolo hails from the beautiful city of Milano, Italy, where he started producing at age six. Twenty years into this career path, he created a new wave genre called “Slap Trap,” a mix of slap powers and trap music. The crazy thing is he got this idea from a dream while sleeping in his ex-girlfriend’s house!
Masenzolo’s first album, “Fantasy,” was released shortly after the birth of Slap Trap. “I needed an original vocal, so I asked my brother and Zitter to try singing over the record, and we decided that he would be the voice of the album,” the DJ explained. Masenzolo has been on his Slap Trap Tour, where he performed at the iconic Ministry of Sound in London. The next stop: Amsterdam.
The first time he went to Amsterdam, he did it as a tourist and vowed to himself that he would go as an artist the next time. And dreams do really come true for the Italian DJ. He performed a song for the first time at Amsterdam Dance Event and opened two new recordings at the center of his studio.
