Tomorrowland is one of the biggest and most prestigious electronic music events in the world of dance music. The major festival, which has its origins in Belgium has been held since 2005 and has already begun expanding into Brazil and now the discontinued US edition, TomorrowWorld.
Now, it seems Thailand is looking to import one of Belgium’s pride in an effort to boost global tourism into the country. Here’s what World Planet Entertainment managing director Chatri Tungthiankul has to say about making Tomorrowland Thailand a reality.
“We have to prepare a venue that can host up to 450,000 attendees. We will also have to be ready to facilitate the journey for festival-goers from other countries, specifically at the immigration control, because when people travel to the festival in other countries – Belgium, Brazil and the US – their personalized festival bracelet does all the work, including that of a passport.”
No dates have been announced for the festival yet. Tomorrowland‘s flagship festival kicks off in just a couple of weeks in Boom, Belgium, and the prospect of additional locations being added for the event in the future is an exciting one for electronic music fans. With Tomorrowland Brasil having had two successful editions, Tomorrowland Thailand doesn’t look too far fetched at all.
