Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour has been quite the star-studded trek across the country. Swift has brought a crazy number of musical guests and big Hollywood names onstage for her performances, including Selena Gomez, Justin Timberlake, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, Julia Roberts, John Legend, and many, many more.
Perhaps the best yet though came Wednesday at the Staple Center in L.A., where Friends star Lisa Kudrow, armed with a guitar, joined Swift to perform a rousing rendition of “Smelly Cat.” The song is well-known by Friends fans as that most often played in the repertoire of Phoebe Buffay (Kudrow’s ditsy character on the show).
The two begin to play in the classically a-melodic manner in which Buffay always performed, before Kudrow stops Swift to give notes, saying, “You have to really feel the lyrics.”
This makes two Friends stars to hit the stage with TSwift (Matt LeBlanc appeared at a previous show). Meaning we can only hope for more before the tour ends (on October 31), right? Who’s it going to be? Courtney Cox? Jennifer Anniston? Or please, oh please, Taylor—bring back Guntar!
