THE Level 7 SERIES
Berlin-based brother duo FAST BOY, made up of Felix and Lucas Hain, have carved out an impressive space in the global electronic music scene with a sound that blends raw emotion and powerful dancefloor energy. Their latest single, “Nothing Lasts Forever” (Virgin Records), strips things back while maintaining the late-summer warmth that has become a hallmark of their music.
Felix describes the track as deeply personal: “‘Nothing Lasts Forever’ is a very personal song told from two perspectives: letting go of something beautiful – and enduring pain. It’s about impermanence, but also about hope. Nothing stays the same forever – and that can actually be comforting.” Lucas adds that the single feels like a return to their roots, highlighting acoustic guitar, piano, and their shared vocals wrapped in an electronic vibe—what he calls “melancholy on the dancefloor.”
With a career already marked by high-profile collaborations—including work with Tiësto, David Guetta, Moby, Oliver Heldens, and Topic—FAST BOY continue to prove their versatility. Their global hit “Bad Memories” with MEDUZA topped charts in seven countries and amassed more than 590 million Spotify streams. Their follow-up with Topic, “Forget You,” collected over 135 million streams and found chart success across nine countries. On German airplay radio, their streak of hits has been equally impressive: “Wave” (#1), “Million Good Reasons” (#2), “Where You Are” (#2), “Born Again” (#3), and “Bad Memories” (#4).
Despite their collaborations with some of the biggest names in dance music, FAST BOY are equally comfortable standing on their own. With “Nothing Lasts Forever,” they’ve embraced simplicity, authenticity, and emotional honesty. The release comes during a busy summer that has seen them take the stage at major European festivals, including Tomorrowland Winter, Parookaville, Hurricane, and Southside, among others.
As songwriters, Felix and Lucas have amassed over four billion combined streams, further showcasing their impact on the industry. Live, their high-energy DJ sets stand out with the integration of live instruments and vocals—a formula that has taken them from Colombia to China, Australia to Ibiza, and everywhere in between.
With “Nothing Lasts Forever,” FAST BOY remind listeners that change is inevitable, but within that truth lies resilience, creativity, and hope.
Q: Tell us about your latest project.
Lucas & Felix: Our latest project is our new single Nothing Lasts Forever. We’re super happy it’s finally out. The track takes us a bit in a new direction, but also brings us back to our roots. We grew up playing instruments and singing together as brothers, and this song really combines that acoustic world with summery electronic beats and vibes.
Q: What’s your creative process like when producing a new track? Do you start with a melody, beat, or something else?
Lucas: There’s no strict formula – it’s always a little different. Inspiration can strike at any moment. My brother Felix tends to be more on the production side, while I focus more on singing and writing, though we both contribute to melodies and lyrics.
Felix: Sometimes a melody just pops into our heads, sometimes it comes from jamming at the piano, and other times it all starts with a lyrical concept.
Q: What’s the weirdest or most unexpected place you’ve drawn inspiration from?
Lucas & Felix: Remember our song Forget You? The very first lyric says, “I’m driving down the coast of Delaware.” The funny part is: we’ve never actually been to Delaware. It just came as a random association, but it stuck and became part of the track. Definitely one of the strangest sources of inspiration we’ve had!
Q: If you had to swap lives with a cartoon character for a week, who would it be?
Lucas: I’d probably be the Road Runner. I love running and being fast, so that would be me all day—beep beep!
Felix: Maybe Popeye, just for fun. Not because of the big biceps, but because I actually like eating spinach. Staying healthy and training is important to me – so in that sense, I guess Popeye fits.
Q: If you could travel with a celebrity, who would it be?
Lucas: For me, it would definitely be LeBron James. I love basketball so much, and I’d also love to experience all the incredible physical training and treatments he gets—I could probably use that too!
Felix: I’d choose a chef, like Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Oliver, or Tim Raue. It would be amazing to see how a three-star Michelin kitchen works in real life, with all its intensity and pace.

Q: What’s the most significant lesson life has taught you so far?
Felix & Lucas: As our new song says: Nothing lasts forever. Life has taught us to make the most of every moment while it lasts, because everything eventually passes.
Q: How do you handle failure?
Felix & Lucas: Working together as brothers makes a big difference. We always have each other to share both the successes and the failures. That way, every setback feels only half as bad—and that’s how we get through it.
