Festival Guide: Primavera Sound 2026

Every year, when early June rolls around, Barcelona transforms. The air gets heavier, the terraces fill up, and a particular kind of electricity crackles through the Catalan capital—the unmistakable charge of Primavera Sound season.

Now in its 24th edition and already completely sold out for the second year running, Primavera Sound 2026 is shaping up to be one for the books. Here’s everything you need to know before you make the trip to Parc del Fòrum.

The Basics

Primavera Sound 2026 runs from June 3 to 7 at Parc del Fòrum on the Barcelona waterfront, with the main festival days falling on June 4, 5, and 6. The festival opens on June 3 with a free outdoor show featuring Wet Leg, Yard Act, and Guitarricadelafuente, and wraps things up on June 7 with the Primavera Bits closing party headlined by Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, and BLOND:ISH.

The Lineup

This year’s edition has been widely praised as a return to the festival’s roots—less mainstream pop-forward than recent editions, and more focused on what Primavera does best: an intergenerational mix of indie icons, underground heroes, and visionary electronic artists. Thursday opens with Doja Cat, Massive Attack, and Bad Gyal leading the charge, with the likes of Fcukers, Blood Orange, Mac DeMarco, and Geese filling out an already stacked bill. Friday belongs to The Cure—playing their first set since late 2022—alongside Addison Rae and Skrillex. Saturday closes the main run with The xx’s long-awaited reunion, Gorillaz, and My Bloody Valentine, plus Peggy Gou, Little Simz, Kneecap, and Big Thief.

On the dance music side, the lineup is deep: BAMBII, Underground Resistance, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Overmono, KI/KI, Ben UFO, and Aurora Halal are all on the bill, alongside plenty of emerging names well worth exploring.

Getting Around

The Parc del Fòrum is well-connected by public transit—the T4 tram line and L4 metro line both stop nearby. Most festival-goers stay in El Poblenou, Barceloneta, or the city centre, all of which are a short commute away. Grab a T-Casual card from any metro station for unlimited travel.

Survival Tips

Primavera Sound runs late—actually, very late, with some acts not finishing until 6am. Pace yourself across the three main days, especially if you’re tackling the full run. The Parc del Fòrum is a large, open concrete space, so bring sun protection for the early evening hours when the heat lingers. Food options at the festival are genuinely good by festival standards, with a range of local and international vendors, so don’t be afraid to eat your way through the weekend. Finally: embrace the clash. You will have to make impossible choices. That’s the whole point.
