Okay, okay, I know that apes and monkeys aren’t the same, but a catchy title’s a catchy title! Anyway, Coldplay just released the video for “Adventure of a Lifetime,” the first single off of their album coming out on December 4th, “A Head Full of Dreams” and it features CGI apes forming a band in the jungle.
The Stanely Kubrick-esque video is directed by Mat Whitecross, features animation credits from Andy Serkis (AKA Gollum in Lord of the Rings), and took about six months to create. Coldplay themselves do not appear in the video, but the apes sport a few similar features – Chris Martin’s blue eyes, for example, and Jonny Buckland’s green hat.
The video follows the story of some not-so-ordinary primates hanging out in the jungle when they come upon a Beats Pill portable speaker and decide to form a band. The release comes just after Coldplay revealed their new ballad “Everglow,” featuring the vocal stylings of Chrs Martin’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
