Steve Angello, one-third of what used to be Swedish House Mafia, will be involved in a scripted television series about electronic dance music.
Angello will be teaming up with the newly-organized Primary Wave Entertainment as Exec producer of the show. Despite originally being music oriented, a merge with Intellectual Movements and acquisition of Evolution Entertainment, caused the entertainment company to become a multi-platformed empire. They’ve come to rep clients across the industry like DJ Audien, Melissa Etheridge, Gabrielle Union, and CeeLo Green who also happens to be Primary’s COO.
Little is known about the actual series. It’s still in purely developmental stages, with no word on places or names, although certain venues have expressed some interest already. According to Variety:
“The potential series will be about DJ culture in the fast-paced, larger-than-life world of electronic dance music, also known as house music. The show has plans to prominently feature Angello’s music.”
Angello will be working alongside his wife Isabel Adrian, who is a Svenska Hollywoodfruar alumni (which I’ve come to understand basically means Real Housewives of Sweden), and director Gregory Alosio.
Hopefully this will go over better than EDM’s last foray onto the screen: Zac Efron’s 128 bpm mess We Are Your Friends….
