Alex Pall and Drew Taggart are ordinary people just like you and me. Sometimes they have bad days. However, the American DJ duo who make up The Chainsmokers have a different way to let off steam – by putting it into a song.
That’s what the two have done with their newly released music video of their track ‘Everybody Hates Me.’ As Billboard puts it, “The duo’s latest “Everybody Hates Me” tackles backlash from fans and foes head on…. They just want to drink tequila with their friends, but they can’t even check the time on their phones without coming face to face with someone’s big-headed opinion about what they do, say and record. They can cry all the way to the bank, but they still have feelings.”
The video is directed by The Chainsmokers’ tour photographer (and their good friend) Rory Kramer and it features a dark and heavy ambiance, although there are also pyrotechnics involved, to fit the message of the song.
So next time you think being an internationally famous dance/pop group is a walk in the park, remember that it can be a struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy in their lives.

The video also features Stevie Wonder, Barack and Michelle Obama, Demi Lovato, Paul McCartney, Samuel L. Jackson, and a whole lot more.
The video sends the message that Dr. King’s “Dream Still Lives” through the people who are still fighting for and dreaming of a better life today. The Chainsmokers’ dream is “to live in a world where people can be themselves.”
