Production duo Goldfish want us to protect the Ocean.

South-African Electronic duo Goldfish, consisting of members Dominic Peters and David Poole, stopped by The Nexus Lounge Miami during Miami Music Week 2019 for a quick update. Attending their ninth MMW, this year they have teamed up with Dutch producer Sam Feldt, to do a very special MMW “beach cleanup party”- an event meant to raise awareness about pollution and sustainable products.

“It’s more to just like make people aware of like single-use plastic. We teamed up with these guys called Orca Sound Project about a year ago. I think this is going to be like the fourth one we’ve done. We’ve already done one in Amsterdam and we did one in New York.”

Sharing their plans for 2019, they reveal of their tour in Brazil, where their popularity has been growing quite significantly. They also share collaboration plans with upcoming Brazilian producers Cat Dealers and French producer Klingande.

Their joint love for surfing comes to the fore, when asked what would do if they could go back in time. “Surfing at Jeffreys Bay in the sixties/seventies in South Africa, no one knew of the waves then.’

Why do they do collaborations? “It definitely is interesting to see how other people work and what they look for. I think that’s the one thing that really stands out in my mind when we work with all the different guys. We learned a lot from everything everyone we work with and for sure, I think sometimes you also learn what not to do.”
