Danny Dearden
We had a chat with Danny Dearden about latest projects, why he chose dance music, and much more.
Danny Dearden is a singer and songwriter based in the United Kingdom. He emerged into the dance music scene with full force: despite being a new artist, with the bulk of his discography having been released in 2021 and 2020, he has accrued over 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. He is best known for his vocals on “Could Be You,” released in 2019, which boasts over 9 million streams on the platform. The song was used on popular British reality dating show Love Island.
“Could Be You” was his second collaboration with French DJ Michael Calfan. Their first collaboration was on single “It’s Wrong,” which was added to numerous DJ playlists, including one curated by Dutch DJ Martin Garrix.
His latest release is single “Come Down (Ba Da),” a collaboration with artist Coopex released earlier this month. It is only the latest in a collection of diverse singles Dearden has collaborated on this year, including “Under My Skin,” “You Turn My Love Around,” and “Overrated.”

Q: Before we dig in, what's next for you? (current or future projects)
Still battling with the restrictions but also keeping busy with zoon sessions and recording from home .
I have a number of future releases over the next months, next up a big collab with Coopex!!.
Q: Why did you choose to make dance music?
I didn’t actually make a decision to make dance music, I started out by recording ballads but over time I naturally moved into the dance / house music genre.
Q: Let's create a new festival; What would you name it, Where would it be located, and Who would be the top 3 headliners?
I’d call it “Lockdown fest’ , it would be located in Majorca (as this is one of my favourite holiday destinations) and the 3 headliners would be BRUNO MARS , MICHAEL JACKSON and BEYONCE

Bodyguard
Q: If you could bring one artist back to life, who would it be? (Why that artist?)
Michale Jackson as i’d love to see him live
Q: What if aliens invade our planet and they’re really hot?
Either get a tan or have fun making a new species
Q: If you could spend a day talking to an animal, what animal would you choose and what would you want to learn from them?
Probably my own sheep dog “Lady” . I would love to know what she thinks about on a daily basis and also what she thinks of me haha
Q: What do you think the world will look like in 300 years?
Very futuristic, almost like a scene from the film Avatar maybe.
Q: Who would win a fight between Spiderman and Batman (and why?)
Probably bat man , just because he looks a lot meaner .
