As anyone whose ever been to Miami can tell you, Florida’s coastal paradise is also a cultural oasis. Cutting-edge fashion, exquisite cuisine, and, of course, groundbreaking music can all be found in abundance, and nowhere is that more true than in the city’s famous Wynwood neighborhood.
North of Overtown and south of Buena Vista, Wynwood is a vibrant urban center with lots to offer all year round. With Miami Music Week just around the corner, however, we thought now would be the perfect time to take a closer look at what makes Wynwood such an excellent place to visit.
The first thing to say is that there’s no way we could cover everything this beautiful neighborhood has to offer. On the contrary, half the fun of visiting a place like the Wynwood Art District is not knowing what’s around every corner and letting yourself discover all the beautiful secrets it has to offer.
That being said, there are a few must-visit places you’ll want to get down on your list, and perhaps the most important of those is the Wynwood Walls.
The Wynwood Walls are a collection of ever-changing murals in the heart of the Wynwood Art District. First opened in 2009, they are essentially a vast, outdoor gallery of street-art murals incorporating a wide variety of colorful and eye-catching styles, from pop art to Graffiti.
And speaking of Graffiti, you’ll probably also want to fit in a visit to the world’s first Museum of Graffiti to see a variety of beautiful exhibits from the fascinating urban art movement.
From museums and murals to brewing and beer, you’ll also want to check out Wynwood’s one-of-a-kind brewing scene. Local companies like Cerveceria La Tropical, J.Wakefield, and Wynwood Brewing Company can offer a unique pint and a wonderful ambiance.
And of course, no holiday would be complete without a few fantastic meals, and while you can find great food at just about any eatery in the district, your trip wouldn’t be entire without a visit to Zak The Baker, where you’ll find the best bread in all of Miami.
Enhanced Music At Syndicate
While we’re talking about events, we thought this would be the perfect moment to feature another great Miami Music Week event that you won’t want to miss: Enhanced Miami.
Yes, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, Enhanced Music is back to putting on events, and it seems they’ve decided to do it in style with their Miami Music Week debut.
In their fifteen years as a world-class record label, this is the first time Enhanced Music will have ever done a date for Miami Music Week, and with a genuinely extraordinary line-up.
Music lovers can expect performances from artists like Farius, Jaytech, Elevven, and–of course–the sensational duo Tritonal.
Of course, everything we’ve talked about here is just a taste of what you expect from a week in Wynwood Miami. Ultimately, it’s impossible to put everything that makes this neighborhood great into words. So you’ll just have to go and see it for yourself!
