Taking a break from his travels through Europe, Nick Ditri—one-half of the dynamic production duo Disco Fries—joined us during the Nexus Lounge ADE Edition at the Technics Space. The producer sat down with DJ Davis to talk all things ADE2024, share about upcoming projects, and play a quick round of our Nexus Take 5 Series.

Disco Fries, consisting of Nick Ditri and Danny Boselovic, began as a creative endeavor in a Berklee basement, where two friends collaborated to create high-quality dance music. Their track “Pieces,” featuring Vassy and Bingo Players, has earned them an EDMA nomination, while their 2019 collaboration with Vassy, “Concrete Heart,” has reached the top of the Billboard charts.

Beyond their music, the duo is dedicated to supporting fellow artists through Finish My Track (finishmytrack.com), a platform they created to help musicians refine and perfect their nearly completed songs for release. Originally conceived as a COVID-era project focused on connection, Finish My Track has grown into a thriving initiative, keeping the duo busy with regular collaborations with both established and emerging talent.

Having now attended ADE for the eighth (or ninth?) time, you could say that Disco Fries are veterans of the Dutch dance scene. “Amsterdam is a beautiful city,” shares Nick, adding: “It feels like our second home, especially around dance music. The culture feels alive, and it’s always inspiring coming here.”

Last year, Disco Fries released their third studio album, “Another World”. They’ve followed its success with almost a dozen singles in 2024, including most recently “Our House”, a collaboration with Bingo Players and the late Fatman Scoop.

When asked about his experience working with Fatman, Nick tells us that “he was a huge integral part of us growing up in the business,” adding that the late DJ was a mentor in teaching Disco Fries how to navigate the sometimes complicated dance music industry.

It’s clear that Disco Fries have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, so when we asked Nick who they’d like to work with next, he surprised us with this answer:

“We hear so much music…And some of the most exciting stuff we hear is from guys that are from the middle of nowhere, kids that are just coming up and doing dope stuff. Sometimes it’s mind-blowing that you go on their SoundCloud and they have like, 10 people following them. So that’s really what we always have our eye on.”

Before he heads out, Nick plays a quick game of our Nexus Take 5 Series. The DJ shared his celeb crush, talked to us about his love for the Sopranos, and even revealed the coolest sample Disco Fries has ever used.
