If you’re a dance music lover that likes to attend EDM festivals, and loves to travel, then you should really consider attending Amsterdam Dance Event this year. To many industry insiders Amsterdam is known as the playground for dance music, but there is so much more to see in this beautiful city. The film festival, the canals and incredible museums, the “pot shops”.
Yes, there are many reasons why you should visit Amsterdam this year but for many ADE would be it.
Here are the top 3 reasons why you should attend ADE this year:
1. Nighttime festival – In parallel to the daytime industry conferences, there are five nights of events at 80 locations all over Amsterdam showcasing a wide variety of styles. Last year, more than 2000 artists performed and it is not out of the ordinary for surprise guests to appear. Already scheduled for this year are Afrojack, Chris Liebing, Deep Dish, Derrick May, Hardwell, Joey Beltram, John Digweed, Kryder, Loco Dice, Maya Jane Coles, Nicky Romero, Noisia, Ricardo Villalobos, Speedy J, The Magician, Tom Trago, and many more will be announced. This is the kind of lineup where you can hit a different genre every night and see everything that the world of dance music encompasses.
2. New Music – Just as the Winter Music Conference is known for breaking big records that dominate the rest of the year, the Amsterdam Dance Event is launchpad for international club anthems. Hardwell debuted his international hit “Dare You” with a surprise live performance by singer Matthew Koma. The song exploded nearly instantly from that one night. With so much talent in town and all bringing their best tunes, just keep your ears open and you will hear all the upcoming tracks you will be buying digital downloads of.
3. DJ Mag Awards – The DJ Mag list is announced during the Amsterdam Dance Event during a special party at a hangar. The huge massive space is packed to the rafters with die hard fans ready to cheer on their heroes to victory. The winner is announced and does a set, as do the biggest newcomers and largest risers on the chart. For everyone who voted, this is your chance to see the results, in person. The event is also one of those rare times when you really have a chance to see the stars up close, because you never know who will be standing next to you.
