A Year After its Release, Audien’s 2022 Track “Drifting Away” Continues to Captivate the Hearts of Listeners

In an era where it’s challenging to discover remarkable skills within the electronic dance music scene, Audien has emerged.

Possessing an extraordinary knack for crafting enchanting melodies and production excellence deserving of significant acclaim, the American artist reigns supreme in the trance scene that some believed had faded away.

Originating from the Northeastern shores of the USA, Nathaniel “Audien” Rathbun has been refining his musical talents since his initial exposure to EDM at the age of 15. Growing up in a family where his mother exhibited a deep passion for music and his father expressed joy through guitar playing and singing, undoubtedly playing a pivotal role in fueling Audien’s love for music. Initially delving into up-tempo techno, he later transitioned to trance and progressive genres. It quickly became evident that Audien possessed a natural aptitude for composing melodies and the skills required to create high-quality music.

In 2022, Audien made a powerful move into the latter part of the year with a compelling record associated with his Progressive House Never Died initiative. Teaming up with English singer-songwriter Joe Jury, ‘Drifting Away’ is a quintessential and infectious track from the Grammy-nominated American producer.

Stirring emotions throughout its duration, Audien’s release on Armada Music adeptly closes the divide between progressive house and dance-pop. The song explores themes of yearning, remorse, and the challenge of nurturing a genuine connection with someone amidst the trappings of a superficial lifestyle.

Eliciting emotional resonance through its finely crafted production and the captivating vocal delivery by Joe Jury, “Drifting Away” serves as a reminder to stay rooted and advocate for the meaningful aspects of life before time slips away.

After debuting with “Rise & Shine” on Ferry Corsten’s Flashover Recordings, Audien’s subsequent years cemented his distinctive musical style. He gained the support of industry veterans through tracks such as “Crazy Love” featuring Deb’s Daughter, “One More Weekend” featuring MAX, and a collaboration with 3LAU titled “Hot Water,” which blended melodic and heavy elements with a trap influence. Audien continued his trajectory of global prominence, collaborating with Echosmith on the track “Favorite Sound” and creating timeless official remixes for songs by Coldplay, Halsey, Nile Rodgers, Jess Glynne, and Calvin Harris.

In September 2017, Audien unveiled his EP titled ‘Some Ideas’ on Astralwerks. Comprising three tracks, the EP included “Rampart,” a collaboration with hardstyle producer Gammer, and “Message,” whose sounds echoed previous Anjunabeats releases and featured Audien’s distinctive musical tones.

In 2018, Audien made a comeback to Anjunabeats with the release of “Higher” and, later in the year, collaborated with Arty on “Never Letting Go.” Then, in November 2019, Audien dropped his LP titled ‘Escapism’ — a definitive work that encapsulated Audien’s unique style and prominent position in the dance music scene. The album included standout tracks such as “Reach” featuring Jamie Hartman and “Buzzing” with Nevve.

Audien is well-acquainted with dedication and has persistently released music, refining his sound and style. In 2021, he inked a deal with Armada and released three singles that year, including “Wish It Was You” with Cate Downey. This track not only injected energy and emotion back into the dance floor but also achieved the remarkable feat of becoming the #1 Dance Radio record.
