Ashley Paul’s Heartwarming Return Teases a New Song “Come and Get Me”

Singer-songwriter and performer Ashley Paul has gotten back on track, and she did so in a powerful way. She spared some time to talk about her latest projects and her most recent travel escapade with DJ Ron.

Ashley Paul’s smash single “When Boys Cry,” produced by Platinum Record Producer Joel Diamond, was released in 1987 during her early career as a promising dance-pop sensation. On the Billboard charts, the single reached number 37. She then decided to bring it back for her fans. “I felt that it said a lot about the times of what we were going through with the pandemic. Boys’ crying was kind of like the world crying. It spoke to me. So that was a big push for me to bring the song back.”

Aside from this, Ashley has recently released a song called “Come and Get Me,” describing it as a labor of love. She co-wrote it with DJ Gemini, Jackie’s Boy, and Jason Dauman, mentioning that they collaborated differently. Ashley also cited watching an interview with David Bowie as an inspiration for the song, as he talks about how writing always comes from the heart. “Of course, it does. And that the initial thrust of anything he wrote came from his need to do it and get it out. And that’s how I feel when I write it. It demands my soul, you know. You have to say this. It has to be out there.”

There are many more stories about Ashley Paul that we could tell you about, but it would be best if you heard them straight from her. Listen now to the full interview below!
