Calvin Harris helps Launch ‘Fallout 4’

fallout-4-welcome-homeCalvin Harris got to play at what could simultaneously be considered the coolest and the nerdiest party of the year.

Harris spent this past Thursday at a secret location in downtown L.A., djing the Fallout 4 Launch Party. Bethesda, the game’s publisher, took an empty warehouse and re-designed the building into a Fallout-Style Vault slash nightclub. Complete with a Vault-Tec donut wall, and Nuka-Cola Quantum serving pip boys and girls, the party went all in.

Despite the geeky premise, the party was, in every way, very Hollywood. The event was a secret until the last minute and had a fairly exclusive guest list. Harris helped set the mood for various celebrities such as Chrissy Teigen and Halle Berry. Video game creators shared the floor with fans, investors, celebrities and, of course, the ubiquitous crowd of ego-boosting birds who have no clue what the f*** is going on, or why they’re there.

Harris headlined the party, coming on after Walk the Moon and Bloc Party. The latter mostly played music from their 2015 debut album, Silent Alarm, while Harris played his more well-known bangers like, “How Deep is Your Love” and “Outside”.

Despite all the obvious connections, no one has hinted at Harris creating a song for the popular series. With Afrojack releasing a single for Black Ops 3 the idea is not so crazy, and with all the coolgeek effort they’ve contributed to a single launch party, you’d think the thought of the bombshell producer making a song for them would be a no-brainer. Let’s hope that somewhere, in between face-stuffs of the delicious In-&-Out they ate that night, some industry bigwigs had a light bulb go off and we’ll be hearing about a collaboration between the game and musician soon.
