Chicago’s Reeling Film Festival has officially kicked off! Reeling’s Sold Out Red Carpet event took place on Thursday, September 17 at The Music Box Theater with a special Q&A with starring actors Kate Flannery, Evan Todd and Parker Young.
The LGBTQ+ international film festival is taking place across several theaters; The Chicago Filmmakers Theater, The Music Box Theatere, The Comfort Station, and Landmark’s Century Theater . Currently on its 33rd anniversary, Reeling has a long history of showcasing the diversity and artistic contributions by the GLBTQ+ community.
Chicago’s first gay and lesbian international film festival took place on April 1981. The festival sold out nearly every screening, leaving audiences demanding for more. The enthusiasm for the festival led to a commitment on the part of Chicago filmmakers to continue the festival as an annual event.
