Damon Sharpe’s Determination and Extraordinary Talent Propelled Him to Where He is Today

Damon Sharpe is a DJ, songwriter, and producer widely recognized for his dance-oriented electropop. The GRAMMY and ASCAP award-winning producer, composer, DJ, and recording artist, has contributed to the success of albums that have sold over 45 million copies worldwide and achieved nearly Two Billion streams. He also graced DJ sets at EDC Vegas and SXSW, released songs, and founded his label, Brainjack Music.

However, this was only sometimes the case in his life. His parents moved the family from Cleveland, Ohio, to Los Angeles when he was a teen, realizing their son’s incredible talent. At first, he was all over the place: singing, dancing, DJing, and even acting. He rose to prominence as a member of Guys Next Door, but that all came crashing down around him. He was fortunate to have another chapter in his life, working behind the scenes in production and songwriting. That helped him connect and ensured he didn’t fall through the cracks again.

Damon’s determination paid off, and he is now a sought-after award-winning producer and songwriter. Sharpe has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Loud Luxury, Pitbull, Kelly Rowland, and Alesso on several of the biggest hits. With billions of streams globally, it’s no surprise that some of the industry’s biggest names, including Martin Garrix, Afrojack, David Guetta, R3HAB, Lucas & Steve, Nicky Romero, Timmy Trumpet, and Sam Feldt, have supported releases by the man of the moment.

Damon Sharpe recently paid tribute to Beyonce’s classic hit, “Naughty Girl,” with a house flipped version featuring Tima Dee on vocals. With each play, mesmerizing bass, vibrating drums, and trademark synths will unlock your naughty side. In addition to the single, Damon Sharpe has released a sultry and entertaining music video in which he stars. Damon Sharpe acts as a teacher in front of a classroom full of students in the video.

On explaining what “Flip” means, he said, “so essentially, that means taking an original song and flipping it on its head, right? So as opposed to just doing a straight-up kind of remake. I kind of flipped it with new instrumentation, vocals and bpm with this.” Fortunately he received much support from the Beehive (Queen B’s fanbase). In 2022 he also flipped the Gwen Stefani classic song, “Hollaback Girl.”

With the release of albums that have sold more than 45 million copies, the world consistently sees what Damon Sharpe can do, and he has set that stage for the most fruitful time of his life…And he is just getting started.

On a light-hearted note, when asked what his spirit animal is, he answered, “I never thought about that before, but the first thing that pops into my brain is a tiger. And that immediately comes into my brain.” He is indeed fierce, adventurous, and going for the kill.
