DIPLO PICKS TWO AT THE 2016 GRAMMYS

American DJ Diplo has won two Grammys at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. As Jack Ü, the duo of Skrillex and Diplo have swept the electronic categories for the Best Dance Recording for ‘Where Are Ü Now’ with Justin Bieber, as well as the Best Dance/Electronic Album for their debut studio album together ‘Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü’.

The double Grammy win, his first, is special for Diplo, after being nominated under various categories in the 2009, 2012 and 2013 editions of the music award.

For the Best dance/electronic album, the duo faced competition from Caribou (Our Love), the Chemical Brothers (Born in the Echoes), Disclosure (Caracal) and Jamie xx (In Colour). In the Best Dance category, the duo in collaboration with Justin Bieber was up against the likes of Above & Beyond featuring Zoë Johnston, the Chemical Brothers, Flying Lotus featuring Kendrick Lamar and Galantis.

Earlier, the duo Jack Ü with Justin Bieber performed the “Where are Ü Now” to the packed Staples Center crowd in Downtown Los Angeles. While Skrillex shredded the guitar, Diplo played the keyboard and pounded on big band drums.
