GQ’s new ‘Legacy Project’ is a way for them to highlight musicians and entertainers that have made a difference in the past 12 months. Aritsts on the list include names like Pharrell, Iggy Azalea, Rick Ross and EDM’s own Diplo and cross over artist Sam Smith.
Diplo in the EDM community can be considered one the most praised men as an exceptional performer and producer. As owner of Mad Decent records and signing artists like Dillon Francis, Flosstradamus and Yellow Claw, Diplo has been bringing big names to the scene. With his contribution to Major Lazer’s music and the upcoming television show for the cartoon character, you could say his hands are full.
“The music world is still the most innovative, energizing, and eclectic slice of the American-pop-culture pie. But what artists should a man actually be listening to right now? And who will we still be listening to ten, twenty, and even fifty years from now? As the 2015 Grammys approach, we take a look at the music makers who, this year, left something lasting behind,” wrote GQ.
