DISCLOSURE TO TEAM UP WITH NILE RODGERS AGAIN?

Following the success of their 2013 stand-alone track ‘together’ featuring Chic co-founder Nile Rodgers and Grammy award winner Sam Smith, it appears Disclosure have teamed up with the soul and disco superstar once more.

The New York legend, who has seen a recent resurgence to his career, posted on his twitter account that he has “…just worked on a track with Disclosure and it’s SICK!” No other information has been released at this stage, however it would be safe to assume that perhaps this time Disclosure are offering their services to the American rather than the other way round. The UK house act are in the process of promoting their latest album, as well as announcing the line up to their festival in Brighton, ‘WILDLIFE’. Whilst it is possible they could be recording new material, it seems more likely that Chic are hoping to get a new album out that will tend to the wide variety of dance musical tastes.

Nile Rodgers has previously worked with a variety of dance music producers, most notably with Daft Punk on their number on hit “Get Lucky”. He also has been in the studio with such big-hitters like Chase & Status, David Guetta and Avicii. Recently he’s also been working with Laura Mvula.

What could we expect from this collaboration? Disclosure will certainly take a benefit from the US superstar’s influence, as they continue to impress the American audiences with their synthpop and garage sounds. Any track would probably come too soon to feature on a new record, but it could be a delicious palate cleanser for a third album. As for Chic and Nile Rodgers, it will be a nice addition to an ever growing catalogue of high profile partnerships, and coincides with the announcement of his own self headlined festival FoldFest, taking place in June. As of yet, Disclosure aren’t part of the line-up. It’ll be a surprise if neither feature on each other’s festival roster by the summer.
