Ed Sheeran’s second album, “X” has been at the top of the UK charts for five weeks now and shows no signs of relinquishing its position. As Metro reports, “According to the Official Charts Company, to-date, 23-year-old Sheeran’s sophomore album has sold over 400,000 copies in the UK alone. This week also sees X earn the title of longest consecutively running Number 1 album since Adele’s 21 topped the chart back in January 2011.”

“X” is also the longest consecutive chart-topper for a British male solo act since James Blunt back in 2005. As both Adele’s “21” and Blunt’s “Back to Bedlam” became two of the best-selling albums in the UK, things are looking up for Sheeran’s “X.”
