On early Thursday morning (Jan. 22), the Instagram world, or probably more specifically, the world of Adele and Lady Gaga fans initially went into a riot then calmed down enough to settle into a simmering brew of questions and curiosity.

Taken the night before, Lady Gaga shared a genial photograph, or more appropriately, a selfie, of herself and Adele. Two major pop artists posing in one frame. Nothing could be more spectacular especially considering the last time Lady Gaga did the same with another equally popular singer: the Queen Bee, also known as Beyoncé.

And everyone knows what sort of event and magic resulted from that match-up. So, could the same be interpreted from this recent capture?

Followers of Adele have been waiting for a moment like this considering that her third album, which was tentatively set to be titled, 25, did not release last year as the World Music Awards had declared on Twitter it would on July 14, 2014 when Adele was one of the annual awards show’s nominees.

Hopefully so. Maybe so. Perhaps Lady Gaga’s caption underneath the photo she uploaded in the late hours of Wednesday can provide a clue: “Nothing like a Wednesday night bro-down with the beautiful Adele.”
