Genre-bending Artist AVAION Channels His Emotions Through Music

THE TAKE 5 SERIES

Since his debut as an artist in 2018, German multi-instrumentalist and producer AVAION has taken the melodic house and future bass scenes by storm. AVAION dreamed of having a gold record as a young teen, and he even designated a spot on his bedroom wall for the adorned plaque. Fast forward twelve years, and AVAION’s dream became a reality when his debut single ‘Pieces’ went platinum. It made waves in the EDM industry, collaborating with a slew of famous artists, including VIZE, Nu Aspect, and others.

By the end of 2019, the song would have put AVAION on the musical chart and established him as one of the most intriguing and promising young stars of the worldwide electronic music scene.

After years of engulfing and training himself in the art of the artistic process, AVAION realized the hard way that his most excellent work emanates from a place of deep pain. However, despite the darkness he feels inside, light continues to shine.

When you choose hope, everything is possible. A mantra that AVAION has driven his life and the span of his profound, absorbing musical constructs with the essence of his latest single, ‘Hope.’

With ‘Hope,’ AVAION provides listeners with a sound so full of austere beauty that it is breathtaking. The instrumental infuses the space with sweetness and suspense, supporting AVAION’s expressive whispering pitched-down backing vocals.

Now, he teases a new song that will be released in the first week of January, and we can’t wait for it to hit us right in the feels!

Know more about AVAION, including what musical era he would visit, by reading the full interview below!

Q: Before we dig in, what’s next for you?

I’m starting the new year with new music. I have a single coming out on the 6th of January together with GOODBOYS. That day is also my birthday so that’s even nicer! I’m so proud of how the song has turned out, it has such a vibe, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

Q: What does music mean to you?

I think music is the most powerful language in the whole universe. Music has the power to both heal and break you. Ultimately, for me, music is life.

Q: Is there a song that makes you emotional?

There are a lot of songs that make me emotional, whether that’s positive or otherwise, especially the songs I associate with memories. One song, or hook, can instantly bring up a moment in time as clearly as if it had just happened seconds ago.

Q: What makes a track a hit?

In my opinion, it’s when you listen to a song, and it gives you instant goosebumps. Along with that uplifting feeling and overwhelming sensation of emotional vibes. That’s the sign you have a hit song on your hands.

Q: Which musical era would you visit if you could travel back in time?

It’s got to be the Woodstock era, the so late 1960s. The music, the free spirit energy, and everything around that time intrigue me, and to be present at such a defining event like Woodstock would be an incredible experience.

Q: Who was your role model while growing up?

From a young age, I always admired renowned footballer Cristiano Ronaldo for his talent and drive.

Q: What makes you feel unstoppable?

When I finish a new song that I’m obsessed with or when I’m on stage, that’s when I feel like I can do anything. This summer I had the experience of playing one of my songs ‘Pieces’ to a crowd of a few thousand people and hearing them sing along to every word was magic.

Q: How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?

Well, we don’t have those here in Germany, but we do have Monster Wunderball and it takes you around about two years to get to the center of one of those!

Q: Would you travel to space? (if yes, which planet if no, then why not)?

Yes, I absolutely would. I think it would be life-changing to see the globe from space. I think it would give you immense perspective and make you realize how small our problems, and everything, really are.
