The number 1 DJ for two years in a row as proclaimed by DJ Mag’s Top 100, Hardwell, has released his debut album United We Are last week and includes many different styles of house including big room, electro, deep house and even somewhat of a rock influence. The album contains work with a good amount of talent including Tiesto, W&W, Jason Derulo and Headhunterz.
Hardwell produced 21 compilation albums and spoke of his reasoning for United We Are stating:
“I wanted to create a reflection of my journey as an artist that showcases my abilities as a producer, while keeping my foot in the DJ world. With United We Are, I wanted to paint a picture with my music of the unity that our scene has created around electronic music.”
The album has gotten mixed emotions from fans and media but is something to still take a peek at. What’s interesting about Hardwell, is his idea to change it up a bit. Within the EDM community, change can make or break you. A lot of artists stick to their sound while others branch out. Hardwell was not afraid to incorporate different styles within the album and makes it unique.
Lastly, simultaneously with the album, Hardwell kicked off his United We Are tour to make his footprint bigger to start 2015. His international tour schedule has him going all over the world. If you wish to check out Hardwell’s tour dates, you can do so by clicking here.
