NYC Pride just announced the lineup for 2018’s Pride Island, and “Goddess of Pop” Kylie Minogue will be headlining the second day! Pride Island, a multi-day LGBTQ Pride event, evolved from past years’ Dance on the Pier and will be on Pier 97 in Hell’s Kitchen on June 23rd and 24th to accommodate bigger crowds. Other performances include Tove Lo, Lizzo, DJ Simon Dunmore, Big Freedia, Sasha Velour, and DJ Dawson on the 23rd and DJ Grind, DJ Ralphi Rosario, and DJ Corey Craig on the 24th.
Minogue’s extensive discography includes such hits as “Spinning Around,” “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head,” and “All The Lovers.” “Minogue’s infectious dance-pop lyrics make her world tours wildly successful,” says NYC Pride. Pride Island will be the perfect time to catch Minogue live, as her highly anticipated fourteenth album, “Golden,” will be released on April 6th. The lead single off the album, “Dancing,” is already receiving rave reviews, so good things are expected!
You’ll be able to dance to new hits and old well into the night, as Pride Island has expanded its hours from previous years, ending at 11 PM on Sunday. As always, the event will end with a huge fireworks display, bringing the weekend to a close with a bang.
Tickets for Pride Island go on sale at noon on Thursday, March 1st at nycpride.org. Pick them up quick or lose Early Bird pricing!
