One Direction Doing Just Fine Sans Zayn

One Direction is down one member, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t intend to rocket to the top of the chart just like they used to. And in fact, they just have: their new single, their first as a quartet, has become their fourth number 1 single in the UK.

The song, “Drag Me Down,” has also “scored the highest first-week streams for a new single ever in the UK,” according to Digital Spy. The Guardian adds that the track has 2.03 million plays across various platforms, including Spotify, Deezer, and Apple Music.

This is even more impressive when considering the competition. Number two is Calvin Harris and Disciples’ “How Deep Is Your Love,” three is previous number one hit “Black Magic” by Little Mix, four is “Are You There With Me” by Lost Frequencies, and five is “Shine” by Years & Years.
