Skylar Stecker seems to be heading down the same path as Demi Lovato – teen Disney Channel star turned pop and dance music sensation! At only 15 years of age, she’s dropped more than one catchy, chart-topping song. And she’s not stopping there. Stecker recently released the music video for her latest hit, “Blame,” just a little over a year after her last music video came out (for “Only Want You”).
According to Billboard, she is showing her more grown-up side in this track. “For the video, Stecker kept it simple with a straight-ahead performance clip, showing off her dance moves while keeping the focus on the song.”
“I wanted this video to have an organic vibe that showed a side of me that most people haven’t seen unless they’ve been to one of my shows,” Stecker herself says of the video. “So we rented an old warehouse in L.A., showed up with a camera and some chairs and shot until the sun went down.” The stripped-down aesthetic and swooping camera allow Stecker’s listeners and watchers to keep their attention on the beat of the song and the choreography she and her dancers perform.
